Andrea Steinacker

Owner, Attorney, Consultant, and Trainer

In 2004, I was hired directly out of law school as a Trial Attorney in the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division through the Attorney General's Honor's Program. I spent the next 20 years in the Division's Housing and Civil Enforcement Section, where I investigated and litigated cases alleging violations of the Fair Housing Act, the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Public Accommodations), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other statutes enforced by the Housing Section. In 2016 I applied and was selected for promotion to Special Litigation Counsel for Fair Housing. In that role I supervised investigations and cases, acted as lead attorney on complex litigation, consulted with case teams on litigation strategy and civil procedure, developed skills trainings for attorneys, and took on various responsibilities a member of the Housing Section's management team. I left the Civil Rights Division in October 2024 to return home to western Washington and open my own legal consulting practice.

I graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in April 2004. I was admitted to the Washington State Bar in November 2004.
